Funky Town Grooves has on CD reissued 2014 Diana Ross' RCA album, whether digital geremastert or not, I can not make right, but the quality is very good.
The input track "Muscles" was written by none other than Michael Jackson and produced. This brought a Diana one of her countless Grammy Nomminierungen, but unfortunately it was once again in the nomination. One can not say anything else, the song is from the exceptional arrangement and the outstanding vocal performance Dianas forth the highlight of the album.
But the other tracks to be proud of. "So close" is a cheerful number, although counterintuitive, for me personally, however, is a bit too shallow. Beautifully contrast is the ballad "Still in love", one of her best! In "Fool For Your Love" rocks Diana's house, which is the most rocking song that I know so far from it, similarly, only the also grandiose "Mirror, Mirror". "Turn me over," Well, that's not a song that says here the electronic Diana, that you should please invert the plate, this may be going on the album title "Silk Electric". A gimmick from the vinyl era.
"Who" is a fleet R "Lies Love 'n B number and goes back towards rock. "In Your Arms" is a beautiful ballad that either reminds me of a Christmas song or a ballad of ABBA. "Anywhere you run to," is easier, perhaps a little too light pop and the last track "I am me" is actually Regea! I think that's the only song Diana in Regea style and represents a truly successful completion of the album.
