Dictionary of Design Principles

This book does not describe processes, it is not a textbook, but a reference book. But a great:. On each side of a double principles of design such as Fitt's Law are presented, always with color illustrations on the right and a short but sufficient to understand the explanatory text on the left. By the brevity of explanation, the book does not go, of course, so much in depth, but this is rarely really necessary for non-designers. In addition, it invites and thus a benefits from airy to browse and between-times-to peek.

The book is not only wonderfully suited if you even on good design (not: Styling!) Interested, but not a designer is. No, it is beyond enormous good to give it to eg. A programmer or a project manager because it helps tremendously, to find a common language when talking about style.

If one often faces the problem that it is difficult to establish its own good design idea, or criticizing existing bad design is not taken seriously enough, this book is a great Argumentierungshilfe if you just again hit a page, point to it and can say: "That's why!".

Even at twice the price the book would still be recommended. At the price everyone should, of even begin to design beschäftgit (ie z. B. a programmer who is not really responsible for GUI design) define the book.
