After my Analog Clock by Lorus after years of reliable work gave up the ghost, I was looking for a new alarm clock. But all analog alarm clock I tested had clearly too loud tick sounds - my old alarm clock was barely audible. This took place the "radical change" in a digital alarm clock. Aufrund two 5-star-Renz ions I chose this Hama-model and can fully understand why this 5 star award: 1) Great Overview: The time is displayed large and clearly legible. The not so important messages (seconds, date, day and the variable display significantly smaller - but readable) 2) No permanently lit indicator: the light is either by the larger button on the top right for about 5 seconds to turn on or even easier by a small switch on the back, the motion sensor are activated. This light turns also a for about 5 seconds, when stroking his hand over the alarm clock (up to 30cm distance) 3) Settings: The settings are easy to make. With the included short instructions absolutely no problem. 4) Temperature display at bottom right appears the temperature in the display. Pressing the mode button you can also set the alarm time (there is the possibility to set two alarms) or to stop a second time. For me, alarm time and temperature are of interest, the other two options are nice additions for someone who may need it. 5) radio display: a few minutes after inserting the battery, the alarm immediately took the time. Also is displayed on the basis of a signal, if it receives a signal, and thereby adjusts the hourly time again by radio. 6) alarm: pleasant signal with matching volume 7) Snooze function: by pressing the button on the top right (same light button) turns off the alarm and beeps after four minutes to get rid of. By pressing the button at the bottom right of the alarm is off. In summary: I am thrilled
Supplement after almost two years of operation (January 2014): the full score is. In the last two months I thought that the lighting function is defective because only sparingly lit the light. Now that the alarm clock finally came to a stop, the mystery has been solved: the battery. After charging everything is like the first day. So when the light dims, replace batteries in time as a precaution.
