When the Master had mid to late 90's a dry spell - DIO himself said once in an interview that he is dissatisfied with Angry Machines - I have long been a base for the applicable difficult successor Magica and the subsequent album Killing the Dragon. Only when both were present in this sandwich offer, I decided to buy, mainly because of Killing the Dragon with Magica as a bonus candy.
Killing the Dragon is whole really good, it almost comes to the classic Holy Diver and load zoom in Line. Quite it is not enough, because a few pieces of the second half - particularly push and Before the Fall - are something very made to mainstream. But otherwise: very neat, also show the reviews of the individual album.
For dessert then it gave Magica. First Listen scared at first but arg with a mix of computer voice and keyboards, the contrary suggests a very melodic pieces and in between, but very little metal. What DIO has since thinking ??
The answer to the riddle is the closing track on Magica: Magica story, a 18 1/2 minutes long, put forward by DIO and probably even conceived Once-Upon-A-Time Fantasy Story. And there's finally makes PLING!
Magica is not a simple concept album, it's a soundtrack based on the story told. Did you first heard and understood the story itself Magica unfolds for the listener like an orchid in James Cameron's Pandora nocturnal forest. Just awesome! In my opinion, the best thing that has ever made DIO; his Lord of the Rings.
Unfortunately DIO was in 2009 started Magica 2 no longer accomplish. But after the pre-release single Elektra you got any idea what he has prepared as a giant hammer! That's just not fair ..
