Why have I got myself the smaller version:
The general more mature design and retro buttons from SNES.
I find the trims super stylish (but anything other than scratch. Then I go later on) and will probably buy myself the Triforce version.
I have for a man relatively small hands and at the latest after 1-2 hours, these are incredibly cramped playing with the XL. The little 3DS is much more pleasant for me in the hand.
The little 3DS screen has exactly the same resolution as that of the 3DS XL. Because of the smaller screen, the image with the same resolution is visible sharper and looks a good deal more beautiful. For immersion and overview is for the big screens of the XL of course better, everyone must decide for themselves.
The new features of the New 3DS:
C-Stick: this Part I considered most critical to buying. As described probably in countless reviews is not a Circle Pad, as on the left, but a "Nupsi", as in the old Thinkpad notebooks. The stick itself is as good as fixed and responds to applied pressure. After a relatively intensive use I have to say: The stick is used to, but is super to eg the camera in Monster Hunter or Majora's Mask to control 3D. I think he is also, at least in small 3DS, within easy reach. Whether it be to aim for first-person shooters and the like is, I dare but very doubtful.
ZL / ZR: The buttons I have not yet really have to use in games, the keys can be reached but good for me, because they are slightly higher than the "old" shoulder buttons and the fingertip rests precisely.
Viewpoint Stable 3D: The New 3DS has on the inside a new (infrared -?) Camera get to that detects the angle at which the eye to the screen are and the 3D image can adjust accordingly, so that there is no longer so quick to duplication , This feature I also initially viewed with skepticism, but it works surprisingly error-free, even in the dark. Apart from a few exceptions, the picture is much more stable, even if the 3D effect itself has not improved.
Layout: As mentioned, I find the colored action buttons super. The Super Nintendo (at the controller orients the coloring) was my first console and I'm a little nostalgic, so I think that one probably a bit more important than others. The apportionment of the circuit breaker to the front is really a disaster. Has no one ever tested? It's just not possible to cope with the natural hand posture to any and every time you click on the same shoulder buttons or something. Really cruel. The Start and Select button have migrated under the action buttons, the home button at the bottom screen and the volume control integrated in the upper part (such as the 3D-controller). The buttons / controls are all within easy reach and the layout is ok. What is there to complain about in addition to the position of the stop button only is the positioning of the microSD card slot under the battery. What an absolute nonsense. To change the SD card you have now screw on the back, take out the battery, switch card, all bolts together again. Come fortunately not so often ..
Trims: These are super chic designs available (for 15-30), the 30 are but partly very steep. And above all: I'm really good with my electronic devices in order, but when the N3DS equally lay in the sun, I have seen that several scratches on the top are (partly on the lower) panel. I really could not tell me anyway and wanted to set the aperture Zelda me, I am painted with a thumbnail times over the surface (actually painted only, not extra-scratched with pressure) and it's so easy to make scratches on it. If you already 30 for a bunch of plastic required, which should be at least worth the money!
In addition, a new WLAN module was apparently installed, making faster downloading the eShop is possible. Furthermore, were better processor and graphics unit built so that the New 3DS, at least in theory is more powerful. This is one but probably (let's see how many there are) until the appearance of the exclusive title to test.
Conclusion:
The review sounds possibly negative, as if she meant. I have long quarreled with me, if a console update is worth 170 again, but I'm very satisfied so far with the New 3DS. The C-Stick and the more stable 3D are very useful additions that are actually in the console would have from the outset to put (sometimes you can be at Nintendo really grasp just at the end). The unit is for me much more comfortable in the hand and with the (opposite the old small 3DS) grown screens I'm satisfied. If you still does not have a 3DS, you get here definitely the best version. For those who already own a 3DS XL or this review is hopefully a little help in deciding whether to invest money again.
Yet in the end: I love Nintendo, and its games, especially in times of a flooded with 08/15-games market, but really: Which Klappspaten is responsible for our marketing? How can you come up with the idea to name a new console or a revision "New 3DS", when the old "3DS" is? This has indeed been so super work out with the Wii and the Wii U and leads not intended that the people who do not read the daily video game magazines, confused in front of the shelf and do not know what to buy her boy. Also 0 TV advertising or other ... but what do I know
