A real Plug'nPlay immediately recognized by my Vista 32bit system ... and even a 32-bit XP, in spite of a volume of 3TB ... I was not sure that my OS can manage USB 2.0.
From this point of view, much more obvious to implement a eCanvio HDWC120EW3J1 Toshiba USB 3.0 2TB I bought a few months later (see my review on Amazon, for a few more, I will have to stay on Choosing a Seagate).
Physical partition 3/4 - 1/4 without difficulties with EASEUS,
Fast .... with spiked write 32MB / s which, with my system, is a record to USB 2.0.
Then of course we must see ... longevity.
Follow-up: for longevity, it's seen everything.
Less than one year after its acquisition, during a transfer 20GB USB 3.0, the drive has "set curtain" without warning.
I do not know if it is overheating like other posts mention, but since I am unable to retrieve the information as "bits" to the ridiculous rate of 1.2 MB / s. Hello galley when there are 2 TB of information to back up! Good thing I have a second backup larger files.
In addition, as soon as I want to delete a file shredder, it crashes. And since this is confidential business information, no way to return it in kind under the guarantee ...
Definitely, I will end up not buying that WD or Hitachi (HGST) because it is the 2nd Seagate I "slap" in 3 years.
