To read the review, I wonder if we have received the same cabinet, and I encourage its editor to request an exchange to Amazon. The build quality of this package is indeed excellent (and elsewhere emphasized in comments from UK Amazon sites and US); I even find this package a better quality than the Beatles In Mono box: Each album is protected in a plastic jacket, the sleeves are made of cardboard (very) hard, paper sleeve (the kind in which 45 were sold towers) is provided in each album, and like in Mono box set, each CD is protected in a laminated packaging reminiscent protecting 33 towers (although the latter were more paper). As for the cover of Yesterday And Today, designers of the box had the good taste to provide the disc into a replica of its original cover and, in addition, provide bland alternative coverage on a vinyl sticker type (I never décollerai of its support, but leave before the original illustration in the plastic pocket). On these, they are relatively similar quality to those racing discs Mono box set, although they are slightly more "satin", "vinyl", hence perhaps this feeling of higher quality. The packaging at large and every detail seems to me PERFECT! As for music (since it is still why I bought this case), I obviously did not have time to listen, and certainly not a clinical ear. Moreover, I am European, and born in the year of the death of John Lennon, so I can not compare these editions to original editions (comparison that makes extensive debate Amazon US side). The mix is different, it means immediately on most songs, but they are not, from what I've read, "historically" true to the original mix US that were it seems quite difficult to listen. Apple has likely considered appropriate to seek balance in historical acuity and listening pleasure (no loudness war or tiring saturation). And gratifies us, except on The Beatles' Story and Hey Jude, mono and stereo mixes of the albums. The Mono box, rather than play the card of elitism to an aberrant price should learn from this package. Delighted with my purchase, my family will still supper Beatles for a few weeks ;-)
