Because I've seen many (newer) Need for Speed ​​games played, some of which were good, but also partly bad, I wanted to have recourse to the so-called "classic" of the Racing Games. Installation: Easy. Here in I want allerdinigs note that it is not yet on Windows 8 playable until now.
Anyway, I started the game as usual, the problem-free. To start out, but also later, you can if you want to also log in to Autolog yet. In newer parts of NFS Autolog is already standard, but at this point I want to explain again what this is about at all.
Autolog stores racing successes on which to fall back, connects you with friends and much more. When the game eg playing with a friend, you can play against or with him in multiplayer.
But that is not entirely problem-free. For multiplayer, there are only a few servers, and you can not always play with the friend with whom you want to play. That was a point of criticism here on Amazon.
So much for Autolog. The game world itself is compared to newer games quite small, but there is much about the urge to discover to breastfeed: For example, a snowy mountain road in zigzag, a hot desert road, a curving forest road and many more. In addition, there are many shortcuts, and you will be rewarded if you can find a new one.
But in the free ride there not too much variety. You drive just as towards where you want to, but that's about it. I think you might have been able to make some small side-quests or Quicktime events, but that does not exist. Too bad ...
Anyway, the gameplay is pretty easily by hand, although there is always the same: At the very beginning are still the XBox settings available, which means you move W, brakes with S, moves at the right and left on the directional pad. You have to change the settings though everything but otherwise, control goes perfectly.
Stupid I find only in the graphics settings I have to play it to the lowest or second lowest graphic level, because otherwise it starts to stutter. Although then see the cart out as flat mattresses, but that's not so bad.
If you have a good PC is the gameplay but made properly and and the landscape very detalliert.
The races are pretty ... but flawed. The enemies are easy to catch, hard to overtake and have all the well-known "rubber band" effect, that is even if you have speed + Nitro, you get a still a with ease. Not until the last kilometer all AI colleagues are suddenly slowed and it just needs a little nitro boost and to get finishing line first. The principle was therefore not the best ...
In addition, you will be as good as for all rewarded, at least in the first part of the game. For new abbreviations, see, drifting, ram or push away other vehicles, put the police and incapacitate opponents, win races ... The rewards look quite different from.
It may be a bounty that you need to get on the career ladder, but it can also be nitro to drive past the other. You also get handy after each race a new car, either for the police or for the racer. Or perhaps you also get equipment or weapons to improve his car for compliance and polish.
As for the weapons is concerned: They are not as silly as I thought! Especially as a hunter or hunted they are put important, especially when it comes to ländere race or heavier opponents. They are also well thought out on the side of the cops and on the side of Racer and quite useful. Here again a credit to the developers!
But we now come to the point car design. The cars look great, that's for sure, but there are not that cool and opting Farbenauswählen as in the beloved Underground series. While you can change each screw on the car and wechsen in many games, you can just change the paint color only in this game, and but also only on the side of Racer.
But honestly, even so see the carts damn good!
