Asus F200 / 369 / N3520 Intel Pentium / 4GB RAM / 500GB HDD
My expectations:
Small, compact computer, which is intended primarily for managing music / browsing / editing text. Secondary should CAD programs run by small changes to elements to make.
First impression:
Win 8 - the biggest pile of crap that I've ever met - user-unfriendly / functions are very hard to find (program "Classic Shell" makes it somewhat Win_7-like).
Netbook goes up quickly and holds with min. 4 hours in my opinion long enough.
Were my expectations met ?:
For music / surfing / Word Processing I need not say much indeed. I use a CAD program SolidWorks 2013/2014. With low image quality settings (around 20%) can be represented reasonably fluent assemblies with 20 elements. Estimated 25 FPS for modules with 25 elements and high textures (carpet / wood / concrete) - by far the zoom in the frame rate drops but up to about 5 FPS. Metallic surfaces with only a few light sources should be displayed more smoothly, I could not test so far.
Closing remarks:
Expected from the APU is not as much. "Quad-core up to 2.4 GHz" to listen to powerful, but are relatively slow (this applies to CPU & GPU). All versions need a bit longer than today's middle-CPUs. Since I'm used to a desktop i5 and i7 laptop CPU, I am possibly a little spoiled.
For me, the performance is being able to work enough to move.
Edit:
Sadly, it's really for the layman not possible to install another operating system. Neither with a bootable USB_Stick, an external DVD drive or with the BIOS settings, it is possible for me to install Windows 7. Since I am so compelled, a; in my opinion; more to use as a bad operating system (Windows 8), I draw from a star. The fact that Windows 8 only the Internet Explorer works as Web_Browser, I have per page change wegklicken 1-10 scripting errors, so I'll ever further.
If anyone has a solution proposal with respect to a Windows 7 installation have, I would be delighted if you to leave a comment here.
