We bought this game for our son, because he already knew an older version. During installation, the game was already using the disillusionment. The software consists of 4 CD's; 1 - 3 = Installation CD's AOE, CD 4 = The War Chiefs. The installation of CD 1 - 3 of AOE was still problematic. It is unusual that after the CD 3 once the CD 1 and CD not 4 must be inserted. The installation of the CD 4 - The War Chiefs robbed a contrast to last nerve. The installation runs under XP SP 3 as well as Windows 7 on a regular basis on the hammer. Always at the end of the installation, the system will depend on, because a certain file is not found on the CD, although it can be found through the File Explorer on the CD without any problems. Since this error apparently experienced by many users, there is a corresponding number of entries in forums that offer partly aids. Unfortunately for us, none of these tips has funtkioniert, even after intervention of a friendly "computer experts". After several attempts, we have finally installed on the CD 4 - The War Chiefs waived. Since then, at least runs AOE III clean and our son has yet fun. If not AOE version without The War Chiefs would be just as expensive, we have converted the entire game again.
But due to that AOE III works, we rate this game with 3 stars.
