Three things absolutely speak my mind for the book: 1. The story itself is beautiful, well told and interesting. 2. One finds through this book even a bit of luck, namely directly through reading and later in life, when one is reminded by certain situations back to the history and perhaps with a different attitude goes about things than you did before would. 3. Since the book is kept to match the childishly naive narrator and protagonist in a very simple writing style, it is ideal for people like me who have long since dealt with the French language. The word information is anyway as always helpful, but also the simple formulations and short sentences help to re-entry.
