The Rage engine is a real graphic monster. Nevertheless, the textures considerably blurred (intentionally?), Than its predecessor. The relevant in-game items and notes, however, are clearly highlighted. So you can see which item or which note to Aufklauben is that pithy posters with their 'old German' slogans that have contributed much to the game atmosphere, very hard not to decipher to do it now.
The game plays in 1960. Lieutenant Blaskowitz, the Charkter that one embodies, sat 14 years in an extremely dilapidated condition in a mental hospital, but he looks after 14 years Klink as a steroid-inflated bodybuilder. Such characterization was perhaps in the 1980s modern, no longer.
The levels are more or less complete and incoherent, are linked to each other only through cinematics. Example: a level playing in Berlin, the next in London. So no constructive, in-game storyline, as for example in 'Half Life' is the case.
There are entire three (madness) enemy types (!): Soldiers, Cyber Dogs and Mechrobots. That's all. The soldiers act more than plump; so you need to provide only a crew cab, the opponents come one after the run out. Coverage is for the opponents mostly unheard.
In this game, the essence, the flair, the 'Wolfenstein' only makes up and stand out from ordinary 2.WW shooters and parallels to Indiana Jones is missing, or has raised Hellboy: the mystique! No necromancy, no spiritual world, no zombies! Wolfenstein without mysticism is without flair and no Wolfenstein. - Just as 'Far Cry' no 'Far Cry' is more when mutants and Jack Carver missing; or 'Doom' without zombies or Half Life without Gorden Freeman ...
Blaskowitz Blaskowitsch is now very recently - a break in style compared with their predecessors.
There are only standard weapons, nothing special.
I have the game currently 2/3 by and there was as yet no Level with wow factor, or not a level that invited to re-playthrough because his style. - Because the drive-torture I will avoid this peril! Who can inter- ference to Xbox One- or PS 4 version. And usually there will be not only a couple of levels that are ideal for new playthrough, but the whole game should be the same.
Games can be 'Wolfenstein: TNO' perfectly.
Who is a fan of this game series, the game brings definitely, however, will be disappointed, because it falls compared with their predecessors. To a possible further part one wishes again with mysticism and settled in the 1940s.
