Durchwachsene performance

Since March 22, I now also have the new flagship of the AVM, the Fritz! Box 7390. First of all I had been looking forward quite sure after all the functionality is truly remarkable: VDSL pace, WiFi, Gigabit Ethernet, DECT and two USB connectors for (via Hub) three devices: This is top notch! But after almost a week using some disillusionment is spreading but. Specifically, these I find annoying:

- As soon as a device to the USB port of the Fritz box hangs, for example, a USB hard drive, the caller number display stops working. All incoming calls appear as "Unknown Number" on the phone display. According to some Internet forums is already known since 2006 of older boxes and obviously not resolved until today AVM this error.
- The USB remote connection works for me only on Windows 7 computers on my XP machine crashes the software every time from. Ergo: No remote connection of a hard disk possible.
- The voice quality when using speakerphone / Sultania in conjunction with the also purchased Fritz Handheld MT-F is very modest and barely comprehensible. I can not say whether this is due to the Fritz! Box or on the handheld, however.
- The transmission of a caller picture to the MT-F is not working.

Almost even more annoying: The range of WLAN and DECT is unsatisfactory. The DECT handheld is in the same room as the Fritz! Box and only about five meters. Nevertheless, the transmission power goes down on one of five bars.

My conclusion: The box can, or better, "could" quite a lot. However, in practice murky abovementioned peculiarities the fun of the new device significantly. At the moment I'm thinking about to return the box again.
