Customer Review

We have just April and my summer plate 2015 is here!

THE Skints from East-London bringing with "FM" their third album to date to the market. On their debut "Live.Breathe.Build.Believe". seasoned the three boys and the lady their reggae sound even with punk guitars. In "Part & Parcel" it became more classic Jamaican ska, dub and a slight hip hop influence.

So now "FM". The board sees itself as a tribute to the British pirate radio station. Consequently, the album is also crisscrossed by, perfectly fitted and non-interfering, radio jingles / announcements repeatedly.

Musically, "FM" certainly the most mature to date disc of the quartet. The starches were expanded. Classic Reggae, 2 Tone Ska, Dub and recently slight Grime bays make "FM" to a round, harmonious affair. Sounds now after a sophisticated craft and is also exactly. However, the record sounds still carefree and relaxed. And since drummer Jamie, guitarist Josh and multi-instrumentalist (and eye-catching) Marcia share the vocals, no boredom comes here ... your Punk Roots homage THE Skints in the form of a cover version: "My War" by Black Flag gets an official Roots Reggae tailored dress and is almost unrecognizable. Guests include Horseman and Tippa Irie on board. And Prince Fatty has given a really great sound the plate.

The summer may therefore come. The right sound is already there!

Before I forget: THE Skints are a brilliant live band! If they are close, absolutely go!
