Klaus Lage always had a special feeling for genuine, soulful and haunting ballads and on this sampler are 17 of his pieces assembled, naturally including real from the beginning 1983 to 1993. classics like the title track of the famous "sweat" album and "Silent water ". Many of the songs are location-typically determined by an optimistic, positive-provoking undertone, which encourages and helps in difficult times to tackle problems. But even darker, deep tones are not forgotten: "catch on New" offers the powerful vocals and - how many songs on this album - a superb melody. With "Mama's favorite" and "Two Clouds" shows location of its ironic side, "If you need heat," and "I did love you" are empathetic declarations of love, the meeting mainly because of their simplicity in the heart. Only the final title "His wife" falls through the jazzy style something out of the ordinary. It is able - and this is his great credit - never superficial but remains profound, intelligent and human. Overall I would recommend this sampler (78 minutes of playing time) because here the ballad highlights from 10 years Klaus Lage contained and his genuine German rock is still something unique.
