I assume that the messages are actually encrypted reasonably safe. I can not check it myself. This encryption is the decisive factor for purchasing this app for me. Advantages over Whatsapp: - Encryption! - For each contact, or for each group you can set your own background image. This one writes accidentally in a group, which is actually intended for a private individual. - Very clear. Disadvantages compared with Whatsapp: - You can set up either a visible for all profile picture, even specify a status. - The entire presentation is not as appealing to my taste. Otherwise threema works perfectly. To transfer a good feeling, not all data to Facebook & Co. !!!
