The choice fell on the Razer Ouroboros or the Logitech G700s. Why this:
- I play PC games (Shooter, Online Games)
- Usually longer user periods
- Use an additional "Speedpad" (macros, customizable buttons)
- Have a "big" hand
In the test of the two mutually me the following criteria were important:
- Lightweight running capability on any surface (I use so far no mouse pad)
- Wireless
- Good ergonomics for fatigue-free use
- Quick and easy release of buttons and knobs
- With macros or functions assignable Zuzsatzknöpfe (in addition to the standard functions)
- Switching between Grid and screenless scroll (Maussrad) - horizintal and vertically
- Long battery life
- Good haptics, quality / "felt" comfortable materials / construction for durability
For Razer Ouroboros Gaming Mouse:
For many years I've been using products from Razer (mouse, Nostromopad, keyboards).
But I would not call myself a "Razer disciples".
Since I have recently purchased the "Speedpad" Orbweaver of Razer, after I had for years used the predecessor of Belkin and Razer I became aware of the Ouroboros mouse because it implements the concept of resizing in the same form (it can be mechanical leverage the length and width of the mouse and the Orbweaver in a simple form to your hand size to customize).
In my view an excellent idea. However, this is not optimal reacted in the mouse.
Why I decided against the mouse:
- Too shallow
- Too short (maximum setting)
- Very 'rickety' execution
- Not ergonomically usable for my hand because of the wrong length and clearly to flat design
- Clearly too narrow for me
- Finally then also too expensive (considering the aforementioned points)
Neutral: the mouse is very light. This is "a matter of taste". I prefer a certain weight, which gives a clear positioning of the mouse and small equipment changes hands, "forgive".
Positive aspects:
-Very quick and easy release of the keys (for gamers well)
- Four additional buttons for macros / functions (for the above reasons for me but poorly used)
- Very good sliding properties on different surfaces
- Sampling well
- Visual presentation (very "spacey / cool" outfit) is exceptional (diemaus comes in a plexiglass cube and appears to float in this Cube When unpacking a real "wow factor"..
Conclusion: Razer has to bring its experience of sensing, actuating and movement behavior in a major product a. However, this seems to be the first evolutionary step. If the money that has gone into the presentation will be redirected and it is invested in the design and the more compact (massive) implementation of resizing, there may be a "big hit". Just as it is now the mouse is younger (with smaller hands) responsive players in a cool design place greater emphasis than I and where a "rickety" Auführung not care.
For mouse software is delivered, the usual way everything can be easily (and in a cool design) and adjust quickly. Since this is also offered at Logitech I see little room for differentiation and did not do aufegnommen in the evaluation.
Therefore: three points (a harsh assessment, you could also give 4 points) because the price expectations attracts so high that they can keep this simple "yet" was not. Razer: carry on, there's still room up ;-)
