A mere 3kg load at 1,14kg weight might hear first of all good on paper, but are not earth-shattering by far. Competition models, eg of Benbo (Mini Trekker) Benro (Travel Angel, Classic A Classic C, Traveler Flat), Redged (Ultimatetravelking), Sirui (TX-series, N-series, SN series), among others, offer as a much better relationship - to lean 650g net weight in payload of 5 kg (Benro C0560T) - added the head you have to then add on more, and with a Vanguard SBH-100 you are then par again.
Which brings us to the head already. The Nivelo 245BK has NO spherical head, but only a 2 axes (1x tendency 1x turning / Panorama) adjustable Pan Head. This is not reversible and can be fitted only on the specific quick release plate (round). A second release plate is not included in the set, for a cheap nylon bag with 2 carrying cords as protective bag. The head is then - in addition to the low load - for "normal users" and the real weakness of the tripod set, because fine adjustment is thus very "fiddly and tedious" on 2 separate axes.
But who is that does not bother, and "only" with the small system camera on the go who can certainly find fun Vivelo 245BK. The leg extracts (each with 5 segments) to be operated by rotary catches quickly and easily, the tilt means grooves additionally guided center column with the special feature in seconds in the overhead position. With flanged camera this function is only under extreme caution recommended because the tripod is very vulnerable to the shift in focus and tends to tilt. This is supported undoubtedly outdoors by lack of spikes that are not available as an option also.
All in all, the tripod is it was rather for the novice / beginner who times one or the other (panoramic) recording would make at night or a group photo with self-timer and it does not want to carry around unnecessary ballast. Once there, however, in the range DSLR and the i. Allg. offered kit lenses go beyond the Nivelo pushes it to its limits.
