In many cases albums by Eric Clapton is a mirror of his just prevailing musical tastes. Open to different styles he had throughout his career just emerging trends such as reggae or Laid Back incorporated. The album Slowhand documented his love affair with the latter style, not only for obvious way through his second JJ Cale cover Cocaine, but also by its economical, soulful guitar playing on all songs on the album. By the way he presents himself as a now mature singer who until Blues interpreted almost all American varieties of Country outstanding and safe. A work full of impressive musical mastery.
