This book is a true revolution in psychology. Teaching, based on clinical experience and psychiatric practice, the authors develop a theory to account for our pathological behavior, our failing behavior (which is reproduced endlessly without being able to detach even that we recognize them as harmful). Pragmatic this book proposes to change exercises, tips for anticipating problems situations. It helps to understand how and why our representation of oneself and of the world is built from beliefs (false) that organize our lives. It will bring to many the possibility to make a more accurate analysis of themselves and identify their behaviors mismatched easier to modify. However, it is sometimes a little too technical and specialized so it requires some gains in psychology to be readable. In this case it might be better to start by reading "how not to spoil life" more accessible.
