Rob Zombie is together with Marilyn Manson probably one of the most important shock metallers our time. For more than the mid-80s he makes the stages of the world, then with his band White Zombie, now as a solo artist unsafe. His latest solo album "Hellbilly Deluxe 2" has now been more than two years commercially available and made for its release for lively discussions among fans, because the question was everyone made pretty much: Why did Rob Zombie the disc entitled "Hellbilly Deluxe 2 given "? A legitimate question! Because the supposed sequel to his 1998 solo album "Hellbilly Deluxe" sounds nothing like this. What is missing are the sharp electronic gadgets and Industrial (largely) the crazy samples from all kinds of crazy movies. Otherwise, everything is quite the same, but yet so different. The lyrics are again to horror movies, monsters, witches, aliens and of course his famous Werewolf Women of the SS, based on his 2007 wacky Faketrailer for Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez Grindhouse double feature (Death Proof / Planet Terror). Compared to the debut is biggest difference with "Hellbilly Deluxe 2" is that the album has been recorded much more spontaneous and acts less like organized chaos, which was the case at the first Hellbilly. Most of the songs, most notably "What?" or "Mars Needs Women", act right from the gut written and recorded, but this is precisely where the strength of the album, because just songs like "What?", "Mars Needs Women", "Sick Bubblegum" or "Werewolf Women of the SS "which is a mix of surf-rock and metal, are the absolute Schmeißer the plate and rock without end. Furthermore, there is groovy songs like Black Sabbath nesque "Burn" or the psychedelic "Cease to Exist". Likely to stand out in any case of almost ten minutes long song "The Man Who Laughs" which with a four-minute drum solo waits for the listener. The whole album has indeed do not grim, evil and spooky atmosphere of "Hellbilly Deluxe", but obviously cartoonish dealing with the themes of the songs and the right oldschoolig gruff tone, "Hellbilly Deluxe 2" to a great monster horror Spookshow, a very entertaining trash-movie that you can listen!
