The larger than average diameter and the great depth of the reflector (compared to the most favorable LED bulbs) give a high luminous flux with a strong concentration for a relatively long range. Despite the lack of focusability she illuminates the environment of pleasant and creates the Spargat between range and scale illumination very good. At large distances then outweigh the scattering, so that the range depending on the suspended matter in the air and contrast of the illuminated object at about 200m is (high light level, trees / lawn, ie low contrast, and it was quite easy to hazy). The light is 'warm' and much more pleasant to the human eye than the "cool white" other LEDs. This results in a much better contrast and greater depth of field than with "cool white" (I have a direct comparison). What is surprising is the low level of practicality. This is sufficient in practice for 95% of all situations, on forest trails and glades, where "medium range" should be illuminated. Only rarely arises the desire to exploit the maximum of the lamp. Then she lays still for several briquettes and achieved a brightness that can not trust this compact and low-cost lamp easily. As I said, the diameter and depth of the reflector are above average.
