I said that this language is simple and rhythmic, it reads aloud very well, but it is not simplistic: the story is told with simple past, the vocabulary is correct and sometimes very colorful. (It is far from certain versions of texts for young people who have recently been impoverished, with discounts to this phrase, cut descriptions and their additions shortened sentences whenever possible, eg the new "translation" of the Famous Five ).
Mythology is well told, all aspects are covered in an easy to follow.
The book is a large format. Every episode takes about 3 pages airy illustrations (figurative sketches barely). Which is about 4 or 5 columns of text for each of the 100 episodes.
My 7 year old daughter hung right away. Greek mythology already attracted. When we received our order, she was doubtful at first at the size of the book and illustrations that attracted little, but after two episodes, she was convinced (and his dad, too). Then she tried to make me read as much as possible each session (4 or 5 episodes) before reading one or two more for herself.
In short, it is one of the best children's book in our library, and dad who also appreciate the bed.
