The high speed and the good working anti-shake allow often indoors or at dusk to take pictures without flash.

Promote snapshots in "P" mode!
Wide 28mm I feel more comfortable than 24mm, because at power lies with 28mm front of a not so large field of view. 24mm focal length also makes happy for stronger distortions.
The Canon S95 has absolutely convinced me and gets my full recommendation.
