Well, I must admit that I am annoyed that I've been thinking about a way to give you my opinion on this second volume spoiler-free first ... but I think it's impossible. The story is dense and full of twists and turns, to the extent that any information on the second volume would spoil the reading of the first to those who have not yet read. So I'll end this section by speaking to everyone, but once it is completed, run away and whisked read the first volume! What I can tell you In the End is that me so passionate that In the After had done and he took me by surprise more than once. I was moved, horrified, anxious, I went through a range of emotions and only once reached the last page that I could catch my breath. The author never choose the easy, she does not hesitate to be tough with her heroine and make him see all the colors. And Amy, what character! It is impossible not to focus on it, it's really a heroine I would like to see more often: strong, resourceful and really credible. And I do not even talk of the plot ...
(If you're still here when you have not read the first book, there is still time to go!) But what intriiiiiiiiiiiigue! Three months after the end of the first volume, Amy, who now lives alone outside, receives an alarming message: Baby is in danger. Its unique feature was discovered by Dr Reynolds and the latter did not hesitate to put the health of the little girl in danger in order to create a vaccine against the virus Floraes. Amy is horrified but mostly powerless, and his only chance to save his sister lives in Fort Black, where the brother of his friend Kay is also working to find a chance to save humanity. Amy therefore reluctant to go further in this old prison, but what she will discover will be much worse than what she had expected ... There, it's anarchy. Refugees alongside former detainees, each more dangerous than each other. Here it is not the Floraes that worry us, but the men, who have mostly nothing human. But above all, women are over there than just objects and can not hope to be safe if they already belong to a man ... A relative safety so. It fits easily in place of Amy, a young girl who is proud this time reconsider its priorities to expect out of Fort Black ... alive and in good condition.
In the End is very different from In the After. the first volume focused on the relationship that united Amy and Baby, on their survival in the After. Baby is almost absent here, although it is at the heart of all thoughts of Amy, and we really rediscovered heroin differently in a diametrically opposed atmosphere. I do not really know if I was disappointed or not this change of tone, I really had a very big heart for In the After, and I read afterwards with much fun, but it ' While this small closed-door side that had me so much more in the first volume was a bit lacking. In the End was less intimate, though just as addictive, and I admire the ease with which the author has managed to hang on and to train with her in this new plot.
As for the end ... she left me a little on my hunger. It is open, abruptly, she almost comes a little too fast. I'm not saying it's a bad end and after reflection I find even that it was the only acceptable end, but I feel a little abandoned, as if the author had held my hand throughout the two tomes before letting me handle it at the very end. I was not ready to leave after, in the end!
So I once again had a great time thanks to Lumen editions, and I am delighted. In the End is an excellent result that fascinated me and which also deserves to be called a page-turner. With this saga, your bookmarks will not be needed, you can not stand the novel before the last line! Prepare to have breath and throw you on this excellent second volume, it is impossible that you ressortiez disappointed!
