Now for the negative point for many well may be a very significant if you want to just unpack and use this remote control:
Some basic functions must, depending on the device, are only programmed. In my case, I run in conjunction with the Harmony a Denon AVR-1611th Anyone who knows the equipment, also know that the original connection is an extremely bulky object, but certainly provides some useful functions. Such as the one-touch scanning for radio stations.
Previously I owned the Yamaha RXV-365, in which this feature has been extremely cumbersome and only on the device itself. And since I now and then something else, as will listen Hitradio antenna, a highly cumbersome action.
Well, this one-touch function must the Harmony only "learn". That is, an account you have to set on the Internet and then add the devices for the remote control gradually. This also explains quite clearly in the manual, but most people seem relatively cumbersome.
Then you click "change remote control key functions" option and select from the list the appropriate device. Now you can see right to the layout of the remote control in the center and right, the functions of the device. There I chose the functions TuneUp and TuneDown and put it on Fast Forward and Fast Reverse. This is as simple as drag and drop.
If you have all the functions changed / added, you click on Save, and in the window then click Synchronize. This is important, because otherwise nothing happens.
But that is not the only function. Even switching the various sound modes (eg. B. from stereo to PL2 Cinema) must first be assigned.
For me it is also quite important that I just can eject a CD by remote control from my DVD player. If you have a trailer, it helps now and then, you turn and interject again. Also this function I had to assign to a key. Since the Harmony but has no eject button, as such, I had to find an alternative. So I placed the ejection to the "Exit" button.
As I said, that may well be a downer for some. But if one has a little technical understanding and otherwise complies with the instructions, the matter is settled relatively quickly. Most of the functions are assigned all right innately and programmed, which I think is quite a feat. Therefore, only a small flaw, but does not fall into the weight for me. I also had my fun of it.
At the operational performance of the batteries I can not say anything yet, except that it is Duracell AA implants, in other words the high quality products.
The device receives from me for the price a strong buy recommendation. More expensive, but is likely not to be.
