The FM reception is location-dependent. In my good reception situation I can receive sufficient channels in acceptable quality. But practically not used by me, because I have very good DAB + reception. The device can be angschlossen on the line output to the existing stereo system and delivers, at least to my ears, a wonderful quality with no problems. The listening through headphones, z. B. in the garden, is very good.
The reception of stations via Wi-Fi completely replaced the previously operated like me Weltempfang via shortwave. The reception quality is, of course, incomparably better. The menus are used to, but grind to a short time. The occasional exposure of weak Internet stations may be with the fluctuating quality of my connection.
The sound quality on the built-in speakers is sufficient for a portable radio.
2. Battery operation
In principle, everything said above applies also for the battery mode. The batteries are charged in the device, the visual feedback about the charging process is not entirely clear, either, so that the charging process is initiated. Anyway, keep batteries for many hours, so that network-independent radio can be heard.
Unfortunately, the device generates a disturbing noise for sensitive ears when in battery mode. In DAB + reception, a low frequency hum, the wireless receiving a motor-like, faint popping sound. With loud playback the sounds are drowned in shipments with high dynamic contrasts that is however very disturbing.
The conversion of my first instrument has brought little improvement.
As I said, referring to battery mode.
I will keep the device in any case, because the pleasure of the device exceeds these verschmerzbare, albeit annoying interference by far.
