The touchpad is good but I would have liked an even larger version (for office).
For custom settings, install software 'SetPoint' (easily recoverable on the Logitech web site).
INFO: If the keyboard does not appear (no tab "My Keyboard" ds software "Settings SetPoint"), follow this procedure (not well explained on their site for this specific fact situation) and not re- install software 'SetPoint':
- Turn off the keyboard (on / off switch to 'off' at the back of the keyboard)
- Open the software "Unifying"
- Open the SetPoint software (to be installed before of course)
- Display the panel "Settings Unifying (for this, click on the gear icon / star on the left)
- Click on the only button "Open Unifying Software"
- (In the first "Welcome"), click on the "Advanced ..." button at the bottom left (not "Next" at the bottom right)
- Click on "Keyboard K400" if it appears to the left and to "decouple"
- Click on "Unifying receiver" to the left and to "Pair new device"
- Turn on the keyboard (on / off switch to 'on' in the back of the keyboard)
=> Should normally be detected (finish the procedure by reading and OK, next, etc.) and "My Keyboard" tab should now be available DS software "Settings SetPoint"
Some critics for office use:
- Can reverse the call key "multimedia" (live) and those of F1àF12 (with simultaneous support on key on FN = function) in the options of SetPoint software ... BUT suddenly we lose access snapshot volume control (need the function key) => volume should be on specific keys separate in my opinion.
- Touch pad handy, but typing on the keyboard is often verges of the right ear without realizing the touch but visually on the screen ... and unfortunately there (for now?) no option to disable it.
- The location of the arrow keys (up, down, left, right) is an ergonomic horror because we systematically pressed while we search button 'update' (shift) or 'CTRL' (control), it which wastes bcp tps. Ditto for the keys 'DELETE' (del) and 'Back' (backspace) is often mixed ... Accuracy: in large part, these 'defects' are due to the irritant French keyboard layout (including figures accessed by SHIFT), which is not found on a Swiss keyboard very similar but more ergonomic for example (this is my opinion, of course)
=> Balance: very good keyboard, especially the moderate pr uses (eg casual, lounge, etc.) or for small offices.
=> A desktop version of this keyboard (slightly wider, larger touch pad, better arranged and possibly keypad keys) would be very interesting.
