Excellent new album of the British Musikchameleons

Norfolk Coast (Audio CD)

Customer Review

The best instrumentation of the Stranglers since their '84 album Aural Sculpture, some very fine songs with ausgetüfftelten sound arrangements, the wide gamut from strong potential hit Pop (Long Black Veil) with partly jazz influences (Dutch Moon) to gloomy energetic rock (Norfolk Coast, I Do not Agree). The typical organ brand Dave Greenfield is finally present, pushing the heavy bass of JJ Burnel and plays melodies, the guitar of Baz Warne is lively, rocking or playing acoustically and the old Jet Black drumming or brusht like in its heyday. Singer Paul Roberts might jump first on ex-singer Hugh Cornwell's shadow and the choral singing of the boys 1a. Although many reminiscences of bygone Stranglers hymns are awake here, nothing sounds old or worn - also thanks to the very successful production. An album that does not deserve to be heard only by Stranglers fans. Too bad that the band's reputation apparently deters many (of the media until the average music interested), here to listen sometimes. Which radio stations dare to play a track of this album? Maybe if they knew that U2 had 1 album Norfolk Coast a number.
