This book, written in a lively and captivating style, tells us the daily life on board a ballistic missile submarine of the navy. The author, a doctor assigned to a patrol of two months, finds himself immersed (the case to say) with a big hundred sailors placed in an adjacent medium. It analyzes with hindsight the work and attitudes of seafarers serving on board. Anything goes: daily tasks, human relations, hierarchical, issues related to the expulsion of families, but without forgetting solidarity that we should rarely find elsewhere. A sprinkling of fine points often humor. Human nature is perfectly peeled. Can be one of the fairest books on this particular environment.
