I am not resident in Japan or university on the issue and I have no travel plans at the moment ... Just an interest in this culture that we often say that it is incomprehensible to Westerners. I found this absolutely fascinating book (I read it in 2 days) not at all boring although very learned. The shape (sheets + testimonials and anecdotes) and the cutting themes (school, society, relationships) and concepts (in / out, over / under, etc.) gives great clarity to work and can store / quickly find the important concepts. The to / with the French and / or Western culture allow to understand possible misunderstandings between our two cultures. Finally, the presentation and explanation of some ideograms gives almost want to push before the discovery of this writing or language. I was looking for a book on "real life" of the Japanese, and I wanted to better understand how they see the world. This book fully meets my expectations. Thank you.
