Hmmm, expanded? Remastered? All right, I'll take the .... The album is well known and is a vinyl in the basement: With REBEL YELL, FLESH FOR FANTASY and Co. Mr. Idol had, after all, his big break. And indeed: Even today, the pieces are able to fascinate. Not only because our one again feels blessed is reminiscent of the time in which one was still young and beautiful. No, it's the still actually tremendously progressive music. In fact: Nothing else sounds like an Idol album, and an Idol album sounds like no other. It's the one singing idol, his big interpretation Able gently whispering to animal covers the entire spectrum from the roaring, and but always on the Punk (t) meets. Because Billy Idol is one of the few pop artists who can sing actually. On the other hand, there is the legendary guitar work of Steve Stevens. It is the really progressive at the Idol things: outrageous riffs, never belonged things fabled runs. Today I shy away from claiming that Mr. Stevens is the begnadste guitarist since Hendrix genius. It is no wonder that this reputation has not spread, and Mr. Stevens known as one of the great luminaries of the flamenco guitar is merely (sic!). This may at times tremendously intellectual pop dress lying, in which one has packed the album. Liked the industry and seeks to promote not art, but making money. Therefore, had the whole sound a bit complacent. But this is here for once succeeded: Although a child of his time, the album sounds still fresh and current. Only some specific Synthiklängen you hear today that the album comes from the eighties. Formally a timeless classic. To me at least liked the album back then, and it still does. Thus, the "bonus tracks": What you get served, is an impertinence. Tape recordings that were mitgschnitten during the production of the album. Although betray the listener how far the step was in fact, the very avant-garde music of Steve Stevens and the rebel and Generation X frontman Billy Idol to don the aforementioned pop dress, but you can hear that include no more than curiosity, and then only once. The "remastered" is also a flop: The tapes were apparently noise removed and then again chased by the Vitalizer, obviously quite unkind: The vinyl album sounds better anyway. Therefore, I have to deduct a star. The album does have loose all 5 deserve, but this (unnecessary) bungling should not have been. 4 stars are there then still, because the album is just too good!
