as owners of both consoles (PS3 and XBox - anywhere dusty also ne Wii a) I can say that I value quality online gameplay. By that I mean not only the thing with the games but also the speed, stability, availability. Here I must say that the PS3 with its free online game has its advantages, but it is just not always as stable or available.
So far I have not abandoned my Xbox Live, was always available, always stable, always fast.
