Bowmore 12 years Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky (1 x 0.7 l) (Food & Beverage)

Customer Review

*** Race: Set on the banks of the estuary Lochindaal-- on the Scottish island of Islay, on the outskirts of the town of Bowmore, a building complex of white, washed buildings with black roof shingles extends.
The houses are right on the water.
Before the administration building and the Visitor Center flags fluttering in the rough, salty wind that blows from the sea across.
Behind again whitewashed production and storage buildings.
On the side facing the lake side is in large black letters "BOWMORE" at one of the production buildings.
That's the Bowmore Distillery.

Bowmore is probably the oldest distillery of Islay and also one of the oldest whiskey distilleries in Scotland.

For a time, was the 12er as the youngest son of Bowmore single malts.
Today, you can, however, acquire the "Legend" with its almost eight years and ten years "Tempest".

*** Taste: Bowmore 12 - undoubtedly a good drop, which is found again gold shimmer and shine in a lightly oiled glass.
It's not the Islay typical smoke that reaches the nose first.
A scent of honey, tangerines, lemons and heavy dark sweetness comes from from the before finally crawling notes of peat and smoke cumbersome from the glass.
At the first sip I have to think inevitably of walnut and dark, hot chocolate.
The peaty smoke begins later to warm my palate and harmonises beautifully with the sweet fruity sherry notes.
Light maritime saltiness and smoky sweet flavor melt literally on the tongue and leave here a long and pleasant aftertaste.

*** My opinion: I find the Bowmore 12 fabulous.
Its aromatic, smoky-sweet and maritime flavor is worth to be tasted and enjoyed.
