For years, we cook our "normal" coffee with one of the predecessors of this machine, the (Philips HD7546 / 20 thermal coffee maker), and are therefore thoroughly satisfied. The first inside shiny silver jug is indeed after a few months by coffee residues unsightly brown and the lid mechanism sluggish. But by soaking with water with the addition of a Dishwasher "tabs" or a Löffelchens baking soda to get this unavoidable contamination lasting contribution.
What's new?
The design is intricate, artistic but always ambivalent, and the work of art is ultimately clearly shaky. The empty can ever misses out over the target when you push them with too much spin under the filter. The main switch bothers visually and spatially, looks oversized. The water tank is removable. However, this is not an option but is advisable in any case, in order to identify the internally mounted level brands can. So quite mature seems whose seal but not yet to be. Is vigorously promoted but especially ...
... Variable strength of flavor
The idea is simple: the outlet openings of the brewing water can be mechanically altered, so that the coffee is wetted differently. Taste it mean? I think: Jain. Differences in taste are certainly available, but they are not as big as that one could celebrate this idea as a small sensation. I put the controller always on the Three Bean Symbol (ie: strong). The coffee flavor is, in comparison with our previous machine, no way "better" or more intense.
Attributes and ratings at a glance
+ Removable and grippy water tank; easy to clean
+ Smooth opening and closing the shutter Can
+ Very quiet Brühgeräusch without strong bubbling and gurgling in the final phase
o control bulb in the main switch is only made after 5 minutes
o handle the coffee pot is slightly edged to (sharp)
o Setting the brew strength by turning the filter cover is rather a publicity stunt
o Janus head design: Left-styled "Western production" right "Kombinat plastic"
- Total shaky and cant celled overall design: the dislodgement of the machine which drops (water tank) and depends what wrong (jug)
- Water level indicator hardly read at tank inserted
- The removed and full water tank at the onset tends to drop
- After brewing drips When opening the lid of water to the Can shelf
- Leverage the power switch stands out very far
Summary
The master stroke, this design is certainly not. That is why we are going to use condiments our old machine continues. Too many detailed weaknesses are to be deplored, which can not be outweighed by the novel, but little effective, adjustment of Brühintensität. Given the fairly high price (currently 84 euros) I can forgive only three stars.
