I purchased the lens in the kit together with an EOS 500D, and thought at first that I would sell it again soon. Because
somehow I was the light intensity just wide and it is on the 500D also somewhat difficult (or the camera is then front heavy).
Fortunately, I am writing this review only now, after I on Friday in Hanover Zoo could only really use the lens.
And I'm gegeistert!
There was bright sunshine, so the initial aperture of 4 was not a problem! Super pictures, rarely blurred, just perfect!
Even with crop factor 1.6 is still very suitable for portraits. All very sharp, super beautiful bokeh! (Even better than the 50mm F1.8)
In low light or even under cloudy skies should choose higher ISO values because the image is too dark or otherwise easily blurred.
But overall I would never give up the lens again! : D
+ Reasonable price
+ With enough light really good, sharp images
+ Beautiful bokeh
+ Large focal length range
+ Large and smooth-running focus ring
- The autofocus is not the fastest
- A little too hard at a 500D, but is very comfortable to hold the combination if you drunterfässt
- No image stabilizer
- Not very bright
small downside: the front lens rotates with
Total: strong buy recommendation! Because I have a lot of fun with it and find the price reasonable!
