The stereo sound is good though not top notch. She is very suitable for mobile music enjoyment away.
Surround in games (and even in movies) is at this Asus card is one thing that every now and then heated tempers. Fact: locating, and thus the three-dimensional representation succeeds admirably. In this respect clearly applies: Dolby Headphone works! What DH but stop also makes, is a certain "metal bucket". This is not a KO criterion, but certainly not something to which everyone can get used to or want to.
Personally, I usually use Creatives SBX Surround and sometimes, simply because I like to have a change, a Xonar card with Dolby Headphone. Somehow the tinny from time to time I like directly. : D
Bottom line, I would recommend the Asus Xonar U3 a budget-minded players, even before the DGX. When less bitchy graphics card has (R9 270x / 290x have no noise caused), one could also draw to DGX, which then offers 24-bit / 96kHz. Who believes to hear the Endprdukt an audio production this difference, however, can be sure to be subject to the placebo effect. ;)
