The word RAID is misleading. The RAID functionality is provided in the Windows drivers (software up). True Raid cards are expensive and take over the RAID functions in the hardware and load the processor less. Since my RAID 1 is accomplished simply by software, the data throughput is only half as large as it could be, since both plates are addressed individually. Since you still configured in the BIOS, the illusion of a hardware RAID is perfect.
Man google simply by Fake Raid.
That being said, for the price, the card 700 MHZ and Lubuntu runs flawlessly on my VIA EPIA. Per network I could draufkopieren with about 10MB / s data. That, however, with the onboard 100MB network card. If my USB 1Giga NIC still achieved better results, I'll say it again.
