- Superior sharpness, especially dimmed
- Open aperture already very good
- Cute zoom range
- Very low chromatic aberration
- Very pleasant Bokeh
The latter point is safe for the relevant who like shooting in 35mm and more at close range, very important to me.
What one should be clear is that you can expect at 16mm with a Zoom miracles. The barrel distortion I can only think if I just count in Lightroom, the more experienced eye sees but certainly earlier. The edges and corners fall because of course from something.
The vignette at open aperture is also very clear, but that's something that does not particularly bother me. Goofy is the pull up the shades in the image processing only when shooting in the dark, where you try otherwise you can neglect the mE confidently. The most important thing - the sharpness, has convinced me completely; something I did not expect at a push, L or not. Much better are fixed focal lengths, I also do not think so.
So much for the optics. An interesting and disturbing thing but I noticed the zoom mechanism. Toll is true that only the inner zooming moves in the outer tube, but who takes a look from behind the lens, sees that as a tube back and forth moves. This allows a first, something to watch in the electronics, which does not look very valuable, but about something I do not want to complain. Questionable is, I find that the motion of the tube quite easily can stir up dust inside the housing. While the lens is sealed but still hovers in the camera body around anything. I would not have given me such thoughts, I could not since I use this lens significant new dust inclusions in the viewfinder, which were not there before and also more. I have a strong suspicion that the Gepumpe the zoom is responsible. I therefore fear that sooner or later fly me the stuff on the sensor.
Ultimately, I ended up with 4 stars. All-optical I think you can recommend this thing fully, only the Staubverwirbelungspotenzial I find questionable. Why not 5 stars? Well, I find that 5 stars should be reserved for exceptional things that exceed all expectations. Priced at Euro 1350 but my expectations are high and the lens delivers a top performance, which is the price but adequate.
