James Newton Howard is a master of his craft. That's what he asked with Blood Diamond once again demonstrated. This is in fact one of the scores, where each title is simply perfect, apart from the three songs at the end. But in addition you can see quite easily away, because what was on offer with the remaining 21 titles, is just incredibly beautiful. Howard saves in this music with nothing. It is emotional, action-packed and unmistakably African. Especially this kind of music works without the film. I did not even some favorite tracks, I really all think is good, but what I especially like, would be title 3, very action-packed, Title 6, quiet and beautiful, title 8 to 11 in which Title Ten even sounds a bit like American Beauty but that does not hurt. Title 13 is the absolute highlight of the score when it comes to action and Title 19 to 21 sets the whole thing, the soul-stirring icing on.
This CD has wholly-owned purchase recommendation, even if it is not necessarily to film music. What I can recommend from James Newton Howard, King Kong would be, where as the Action shall abound, but you also remember the time in which he wrote the music to The Fugitive (The Fugitive) Waterworld, Postman and absolutely still Iam Legend. Although I really think, Blood Diamond is so far his best work. But that's just my personal opinion and I know certainly not all of it.
In this direction there is to African music still Tears of the Sun by Hans Zimmer, The Ghost and the Darkness, and Congo, both of Jerry Goldsmith. And of course, the Lion King, also of room.
