Farewell, Johnny Winter!

Farewell, Johnny Winter!

Step Back (Audio CD)

Customer Review

His wonderfully groovy album "3rd Degree" of 1986 here with me a firm place in my personal all-time blues charts. In particular, the opener "Mojo Boogie" with a yard long, ingenious slide solo and acoustically well-rehearsed "Evil On My Mind" are always worth listening to and uniquely good.

Well, this album "Step Back" produced in me mixed feelings, because the oil, which has lubricated the Blues engine of this brilliant musician, unfortunately, misses no longer.

In particular, the very intimate track "Death Letter" (voice u. Slide guitar) really demonstrated only rudimentary what Johnny Winter time "on the box" had.

A degree in all honor, but my own Gibson I would not fire on the album.

"Step Back" gets here certainly in my blues shelf a place of honor, but an album for eternity is not, unfortunately.

Great gesture:

My here ordered from Amazon album is a pick with baked autograph from Johnny Winter. I think that's really great.

Farewell, Johnny Winter.
