Bought This Item Also I have 16 GB of RAM and a 256GB mSATA drive (because you have to watch because of the NUC is so small that a normal SSD is actually no place).
Speaking of small: I was really surprised that the NUC is so minimalist. From the pictures here, I would have imagined it bigger.
Windows 7 was not a problem put by USB stick. If everything goes quickly and cleanly. The drivers have to stop via the Intel Homepage Get Support, which is also not a problem.
Presumably, this is now a special "problem" that I had, but I want it anyway (I have searched for some time) to offer a solution in advance:
If one uses NUC as a server, one might even remotely as natural. For this I use TeamViewer - but it's also any other remote maintenance tool. If one uses remote maintenance, of course you do not need a screen. However, it then also no image in the remote maintenance tool gets displayed. The trick is in fact, that the integrated graphics chip of the NUC to idle on when the NUC starts without attached monitor. This is also no setting (by software) to solve.
But there is a simple workaround:
- Connect the HDMI to VGA (female) adapter
- (75 ohm) in the VGA socket, the RGB channels with simple resistors connect - easily find a guide for it can be seen on Google under the keyword "VGA Dummy"
This believes NUC which is infected a screen, although no one is off and the remote maintenance work.
One final note:
Anyone who wants to join the NUC via HDMI, has a mini-HDMI cable to buy (I had not at first, because is passed me that it is a mini-HDMI connector).
Conclusion:
Super device, even in continuous operation has no noticeable heat development. Is super quiet and brings high performance.
