Few new ballad - many repeat title

Expectations of the Kuschelrock CD edition for the 25th anniversary Kuschelrock were high. Newer and older rock and pop ballads that are good to dream, relax or for a romantic evening. If the present edition this claim? I mean only partly.

Music selection: First, the announcement of a 3 CD box lies attention. The songs published broken down by music decades sorted as follows:
CD 1:
50s: Title 15 / 80s: Part 9, 14, 16 / 2000s: Title 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 11, 12, 17 / 2010s: Title 1, 10, 13, 18, 19
CD 2:
80s: Title 2, 11, 14, 15, 18 / 90s: Title 17, 19 / 2000s: Title 1 (Remaster), 3, 7, 8, 10, 16 (New Recording) / 2010s: Title 4 , 5, 6, 9, 12, 13
CD 3:
90s: Title 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 / 2000s: Title 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19

Looking at the entire selection is the balanced ratio of more recent (2000 u. 2010s) given to older songs (50s, 80s and 90s). Unfortunately, you did not make the fans and collectors the pleasure of a total of 57 titles not yet published. Title proposals of consumers do not lack in any case. But it has chosen 25 titles repetitions (the last 6 titles of CD2 + 19 titles of CD 3) of previous editions decided. Therefore 1 Rating star deduction!

In the artist list can be observed that there is often always the same artist (James Blunt, Rihanna, Michael Jackson, Phil Collins 2x, Katie Melua, Coldplay) emerge in recent years. If there is no variety of artists more or saves because of potential licensing costs for better titles that have been produced by other record companies? That costs a half star rating!

When selecting the title you squint too much mainstream or hit parade songs, take time to give other artists a chance on this sampler. My cuddly favorites are: Run / Your're Beautiful / Apologize / Morning Sun / Liberian Girl / You're Not Alone / Everybody Hurts / This Must Be Love / All I Have To Do Is Dream / Something's Gotten Hold in My Heart / The Best / Still / Gold In Them Hills / Imagine / / A Moment Like This / Angel / Unforgiven.
Inappropriate title on this ballad samplers are in my opinion the songs from Adele, Rihanna, Beyoncé, Sugar Babes, Seal & Heidi, Madonna, Coldplay, Hurts, Gypsy & the Cat, Bruno Mars, Empire of the Sun, White Apple Tree, Titiyo, Roxette , Half Rating star deduction!

Whether the 25 previous songs are the best in recent years, also is debatable admirably well. Look in the tracklists of previous editions, since they are still discovering other pearls. It's like always but personal taste.

The total playing time was. On CD 1 with 74:09 min., CD 2 with 76:36 min and in CD 3 with 78:23 min. pretty neat exploited.

Sound: The sound of soft rock CDs is dynamic and clear and is rated by me as very good.

Facilities: There was over earlier Kuschelrock spending but saving significantly. The CDs can be found here in a 3 Digipackbox. A booklet with photos of Kuschelrock couple, lyrics or additional information eg Kuschelhotel Tip for Kuschelrock series etc does not exist.
The info's the year of production, composer, lyricist, producer and playing time of the songs are printed below the transparent CD holder. The CDs are equipped with CD-Text.

Conclusion: Too bad, the high expectations of the anniversary issue were not met. For new buyers of Kuschelrock a good cross-section. For fans and collectors rather average, due to the aforementioned criticisms. An acquisition is worthwhile in this case only at a fair price. Whether the announced Kuschelrock show on television is at the end of 2011. If the music lovers joyful, we will see.
