Both images are taken from approximately 12m distance, and while image 2 - photographed with 70mm - almost like a wide-angle effect, you can image at 1 - at 300mm - very nice to see the details of the seagull.
Of course, wide angle is (approx 18mm +) here mercilessly exaggerated, but it is supposed to be only for comparing with other lens sizes. You can either make a nice environment image, or just as an object bring to bear, it dominates the picture, such as the seagull ...
And feel that all is not threatened from a distance, from which also shy animals. When I am the seagull wanted to approach something they flew away ;-(
For Sony 70-300mm F4,5-5,6 SSM Lens G Series I have to announce no earth-shattering news, it's a Top lens for top photos.
