This kitchen timer of Lurch is simply wound up by turning the wheel - that's basically already. After the time is up, a bell will sound (you could also say bell). This is loud enough to be able to hear them in the whole house for me.
The timer can be stapled by the magnetic ground also to the refrigerator, which insofar funny forms, almost as that of the refrigerator then looks like a vault. On metal surfaces the "Lurch" adheres firmly and securely.
The timer in vertical operation - eg on the fridge hanging - does not ring, I can understand when my copy not. Whatever the position - it works reliably. In this respect, I can not replicate the problem described in another review for me.
However, it is so that the timer has to be fully wound ever since by the bell is stretched. So the wheel is always once all around! Then back to the desired time. The important note was my cardboard besides that help in the form of a slip. Actually, however, one can also think for yourself that the mechanism originally brought must be raised somehow. Older semester know the even the children's toys without batteries ;-)
So do not turn right on five minutes and run just leave because he "no force" has, but always "raise" only to maximum and then turn back to five minutes. So ring's it pretty long.
(I have now unfortunately replace batteries with kitchen radio and weather station. Thank God, the "Lurch" no!)
