After so many baroque violinists in emaciated sound, Giuliano Carmignola offers us its fullness that we dared hope for in a more modern interpretation. No heaviness, no opacity in this version, which does not prevent it from ever falling into feverish sprint which often serves as a unique interpretative option to sets that currently hold the upper hand. The Venice Baroque Orchestra is consistently at its soloist with a transparency that allows especially the archlute to delight us. The three new supplement concerti are in the same vein.
