Finally available & makes a good first impression

Finally, after a long wait, the thing is actually available and arrived with me. Have it to last held for Vapor-goods, because there was no proper photos but only the generic stuff and the delivery dates were postponed.

Now it's there, delivered by express. Just a few short words from me, because I am pleased very positive:

I have little idea of ​​NAS and other systems, have a couple of days trying to make friends with a Synology DS 213+. I send back again - I am so not become warm, perhaps too complex and powerful system for me. I need especially relatively much space, want to connect quickly and easily to my Mac.

Well as I said, big surprise, this thing is really there and it is really pleasant:

really solid metal housing.

Starts machine, extremely gratifying: it is much quieter than the Synology DS 213+! The Beginning relatively quiet, but the Drobo 5D is right or pleasantly quiet, that's fine, because with me the living room is the Home Office.

Have first 3 x 3 TB WD RED reingesteckt and thus it is hardly loud - seems quieter than my external hard drive that I had previously.

Formatting via Drobo Dashboard ran smoothly and quickly. And then times fast 160 GB from another Thunderbolt Drive on the Drobo 5D copied within minutes - wow!

So for now just times happy, do not know if later problems come or not, the positive I wanted to report here times.
