PC Speakers bring as quite a bit more volume. Since Samsung TVs only the headphone output is regulated and, unfortunately, the sound will no longer be individually adjusted, I have opted for a sound bar. This allows the sound individually changeing.
Positive on Sharp HT-SB300 is:
4 separately selectable inputs (2 x analog, 2 digital)
individual adaptation of bass and treble
Remote control also controls a Sharp TV
RCA output for external active subwoofer
Included are two sets with different length studs (4 pieces) and 4 rubber furniture covers, along with a wall mounting kit
An analog RCA cable with ferrite core is also included
DTS, Dolby Digital and Dolby ProLogic II is on board
Reliable automatic switch on and off and very low power consumption of 0.6 watts in standby
Negative points that struck me:
The settings are not saved permanently. While the Soundbar has a buffer function, but according to the manual is also volatile. So it's not an optimal solution for connection to a master / slave power strip or an installation with power main switch.
On my Samsung TV headphones output is clearly the worst connectivity because it can thus come in the Soundbar to noise and hiss. But that is not the fault of the soundbar, because when using the digital connections no additional noise or hiss is audible.
Depending on the setting of Bass may cause distortion when Komentatoren have a slightly deep voice, but as helping the back control the bass amplifier part. The same is also true when a commentator speaks a very sharp S, such as Susanne Wille by Swiss television. The high notes can regulate back.
The system also features Virtal Dolby Speaker technology, but it should not expect miracles. As great as with a true surround system is not in me but that was not the main reason for the purchase. The Soundbar is not a substitute for cinema sound.
Of the pre-programmed sound settings you should not expect too much. I managed with the Game and standard setting, as well as individual adjustment of bass and treble sound better.
On my Samsung TV I got over the optical out and the Dolby Digital sound from the DVB-C Tuner forwarded to the soundbar, but when I changed the channel, the Dolby Digital sound went again only if I had turned off TV and Soundbar. However, this may be a bug in the Samsung TVs because the soundbar can process the signals. I mention it for completeness nevertheless.
Conclusion: Who has enough of thin TV sound and wants to buy a universal product in the lower price segment, the solution of Sharp's really an excellent alternative. Thanks to the dedicated subwoofer connection, the system can also be extended. The soundbar can be had prima also use a Logitech Harmony.
