For the DLC (downloaded content), I had to register me though and go short online, then I have but the game play completely offline. The DLC was installed in a few minutes (tip: DA start with admin rights). Who wants to play without the additional content can also do without it.
The game features an epic story and allows the character to be part of it. There are, depending on their origin, 6 different beginnings to find "his" character with everything from Ostagar starts. The backstories are logical and comprehensible and awaken an early identification with the hero. Nonetheless, the plot is often surprising.
What makes a good role-play in my eyes, is that you can identify with the main character and your decisions and there has Dragon Age truly exceptional compared to other games because you usually do not just 1 or 2, but many more possibilities a to find solution. Depending on your preference you can "honorable" behavior, "brutal", "torn", "greedy", "cautious", etc. at times to name a few tags. In almost all dialogues I have found an answer that I wanted to throw in a similar form to the other in the head.
Of course, one's own behavior has consequences not only short-term and superficial. One can forfeit or ergaunern quests and equipment as well as their own group reacts according to their orientation.
A notable example is in my opinion:
- The facial expressions of the characters in the game, to the emotion of the speaker fails to match, you can really arrogance, fear, anger, admiration recognize where I now think of no similar game.
- The associates and their history, you can bring a lot about them in experience and all have distinct character traits, each has its own story and almost every one companions Quest
- Discussions of the companions to each other while exploring, mutual taunting, questioning etc. What I miss in many "role plays" where the companion rennnen always silently behind
- The different solutions without limitation that needs to be a variant better than the other
- The story itself, time and again underpinned by cutscenes
- The Epilogue, where, influenced by their own behavior, the other events are narrated.
Too bad I found:
- That the current group except the Hauptchar has only 3 other places
The 1 point deduction during gameplay there, because the game when I played for a while, ever longer needed loading area and also now and then crashed.
Conclusion:
For a long time a role play that really captivated and the first one that leaves me after finishing a little sad because it's over.
