Of course you can search for all the drivers "manually", but this is somewhat time consuming and sometimes annoying because the manufacturer site on the Internet, in particular of "exotic" hardware can be annoying.
Especially with laptops, this tool has proved to be very helpful, but the drivers are ansich partly hard to find or partially hopelessly outdated on the manufacturer websites.
For people who are not familiar with driver updates this program is unbeatable anyway, but also for professionals (I count myself even had the nerve to do so) but it is a relief, especially when one has relaunched the operating system.
For me, the software was already in Windows XP, Vista, 7 and 8 or 8.1 are used.
Little tip: If you have downloaded any drivers, you can let create a driver package, which is, then even offline if needed, is available. But I'd rather copy out the individual drivers from the Download folder of Driver Genius. This can be found under "[system drive] \ Program Data \ Driver Genius \". To make this sichbar you have previously but in the view of the versteckten- and system files can be displayed.
A big plus was in my case, that the program the drivers for my SATA controller on my Gigabyte motherboard as "JMicron 36xx" found on the website of the motherboard manufacturer (Gigabyte) was just a very old version ("GB36xx") available often (at irregular intervals) to blue screens under Windows 7 x64 led. This will no longer occur. Since the Intel controller detects any HDDs over 2TB I am dependent on this "external" controllers, which finally works fine!
